By Alexis Marcou, based in United Kingdom.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Alexis Marcou, I am a visual artist and I have been working in the field of illustration since 2007. My work is mainly graphite based and I like to experiment with new ways to evolve my visuals.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I mainly get my inspiration from photography and I tend to avoid getting my inspiration from other artist. That doesn’t mean that I don’t admire their work. Inspiration to me can be very tricky. You can’t let yourself get inspired too much or else you will not stand out.
What tools do you use?
My basic tools are graphite and often use markers, watercolour and acrylic in my work.
Any good advice?
Work hard and don’t compete with other artists/ companies. It will consume you.
