About: We are a design studio located in Germany. We started our depotArt project because we all share an interest in generative design and techniques.

Get Inspired by: All our works are based on processes. First a process is defined and then all possible variables within the process are varied to get different visuals outcomes. We think that all things that are visual beautiful to us humans are based on certain processes. And the ability of us humans to understand those processes (even if it is subconscious) is what makes them beautiful. Although our works are based on certain mathematically determinated process, the creation process of each series itself is rather spontaneous. We am not sketching things out on paper before we try them out Also we don’t try to achieve a certain form rather we am trying to develop a blueprint that could lead to a series of objects or images. That’s also the hard part. Trying to find a process that is variable but yet appealing to the eye. The more pictures a series has the more the underlying blueprint becomes visible to the viewer. The tool of choice for our works is a 3d software called Houdini that is mostly used in the visualsFX industry. We use that software because it mostly sets no limitations to the processes we want to define and there are numerous ways to implement techniques that aren’t natively supported by the software.
