Art by Swapnil Rane based in India
Poster making is not just my job but my passion, i have persuade my passion and the passion leads me to perfection and perfection is leading me to excellence, i have done over 100 Movies in the past 8years. These 8 years seem like the best part of my life, i have enjoyed every single bit.
I grew up in bandra. I studied at IES, Bandra; I did my Applied Arts Foundation from L. S. Raheja, Bandra; later I completed my Applied Arts course at L. S. Raheja, Worli. I don’t have any memory of staying in my mother’s womb, but if ever there was any in my subconscious mind, then I am living one. I am living that fascinated, peaceful and ‘Neverland’ world. That’s what makes me an artist- to think beyond the realms of a common mind.
My Dad’s artistic background only strengthened my basics as I was breathing art every day. While at school my friends would take down notes, I used to draw in my books… those last pages were my canvas. Over the years, that canvas has only changed names like… friends’ palms, roads in the night, empty street walls, banners, children’s books, car stickers, coreldraw and photoshop for posters. But even today, I am still that same kid with so much more passion in me not just to work but to learn .
I was “Living Poster” literally , its more of my passion than job and I enjoy it I am working at marching ants since the past 6 years now and it has been the most wonderful experience living in the midst of posters .I was a fresher then, confused as every other fresher, trying everything that came my way , and some how there was a routine I started following once I started designing posters , an untiring routine , and that’s when I realised “this is it” , I found the freedom of colour, motion and imagination . just think to yourself a 3hour movie and just one piece of paper to sell that movie , the amount of thinking and processes put behind that one poster to sell a movie , I some how found that fact very exciting. Mantra sds was just a random shot by a fresher who did movies and lead to exploration and a new world of creativity at marching ants.
